A Banner Day

I'ts Shameless Commerce Tuesday, and today I am featuring this festive 100% cotton bib -- a colorful yet practical gift for a new baby. One side features colored garlands in shades of green, aqua, orange and pink. The fabric is from the Day in the Park collection by Timeless Treasures. The reverse side has colorful lines creating chevrons in a rainbow of colors. This high quality 100% cotton fabric is from the Foxy Owl collection by Timeless Treasures.

I purchased these fun fabrics at The Quilted Kitty, a wonderful local quilt shop complete with beautiful fabrics, friendly owners and staff, and shop cats.

And here is another reason today is a banner day.  It's official:  I will be working part-time at the quilt shop starting Wednesday, September 11!   My hubby calls it "my fourth job" -- and he's right.  I have seasonal tax work, free-lance legal research, Etsy, and now the quilt shop.  It will be a crazy juggling act, especially during tax season, but I am grateful for more stability in income, an employee discount on fabrics and supplies, and the chance to be a part of an independent business I respect.

    1. Thanks, Sarah! The owner probably knows I'll be spending part of each paycheck in the store. Grateful for the employee discount, though!
Working to support my fabric habit -- but it WILL be fun to be surrounded by pretty fabrics every day.

  3. The quilt store looks very large! It's cool that it seems like you have a vibrant local quilting community and that you'll get to be part of it.

    1. Thanks, Natasha! Yes, there are over 300 members in the Lincoln Quilter's Guild, and the International Quilt Study Center & Museum is here, so that brings even more quilters to town. There are three REALLY great quilt shops in Lincoln. I am excited to have the opportunity to be surrounded by beautiful fabric every day.
