I am a day late with this week's Treasury Thanks blog post. I spent a wonderful weekend in South Dakota with my long lost cousins at a family reunion, but got home late Sunday night.
I'd like to extend a huge belated THANK YOU to the curators of Etsy treasuries who featured items from my Etsy shop, Pasque Flower Creations, in treasuries over the past week. Many of the treasuries had a summery vibe.
Ana of ADesignJewelry featured my yellow chevron oven mitt in her treasury, Summer Lemon . . .;) This pretty ceramic bead bracelet from Ana's shop includes some sunny yellows.
Lana Moes of LanasArt featured my yellow retro-inspired linen bow clutch in her treasury, Yellow Sunshine. I love browsing in Lana's shop. This beautiful boho fashion illustration caught my eye today.
Helen Marshall of copperhairartis dba Helen's Hat Box, one of my talented Baby Boomers teammates, featured my purple chevron oven mitt in her treasury, Passionately Purple from the Baby Boomers Team. At my cousins' reunion this weekend, we looked at lots of old photos. Some of my favorites are of my Aunt Dot's milliner's shop. I'm sure she would have loved this purple fascinator.
Kathy Terry of Hattie Designs featured my navy chevron oven mitt in her patriotic-themed treasury, A Bit of Red. If you are looking for an upscale baby gift, you must visit Kathy's shop! This wonderful organic baby blanket with Sherpa would be a very special gift for a new baby.
Leslie Donofrio of LesterArts featured my dinosaur toddler drawstring backpack in her treasury, Boys Will Be Boys. Having six grandsons, I can say with some authority that Leslie's treasury as some great gift ideas for boys. Check out this romantic canvas fine art print of a pencil drawing from Leslie's shop:
Trashtiques featured my poppies on teal oven mitts (in LIMITED supply) in her treasury, Happy Poppy. I just love the color and shape of this Fire King jadeite coffee mug from Trashtiques vintage shop!
Haley Josephs of WinkingWren also featured my poppies on teal oven mitts in her aqua and red treasury, Dream Kitchen. I just love these little cloud enameled earrings from Haley's shop!
Ayla from Eyelah featured my purple and peach paisley oven mitt in her treasury, Gold and Peach. What a unique color combo! But it totally works! This pretty pleated pouch from Ayla's shop would feel right at home in her treasury.
And last, but not least, is a DOUBLE feature by Vicki Hyatt of KudzuandRomance! Vicki featured my patriotic bunting in her treasury, Declare Independence from Dull Colors. This elaborate thank you card from Vicki's shop is anything but dull!
Vicki also featured my blue man pillow cover (great dorm décor item) in her pretty, pretty treasury, Beach Glass Blues. This cute all occasion card reminded me of my granddaughter Madeline who loves the beach!
And there you have it! (Better late than never.) Another great week of treasuries! Thanks, again, to all the curators for featuring items from my shop! For my readers in the USA, I hope you have a safe and happy 4th of July weekend!! We'll have grandkids visiting from Colorado. Yay!

The Eyes Have It
It's Shameless Commerce Tuesday, and today I'm featuring a newly-listed padded eyeglass case from my Etsy shop, Pasque Flower Creations.
I found this cute spectacle fabric by Robert Kaufman when my little quilt group took a road trip to Omaha last month. Love the houndstooth check background. I wanted a padded case, so I used fusible fleece. The eyeglass pouch is fully lined with black Kona cotton. I also added a little black tab at the side.
The soft eyeglass case measures approximately 7.5 inches by 3.5 inches (19 cm x 9 cm) -- roomy enough to accommodate sunglasses or oversized reading glasses. The case was made based on Stitched Sunglasses Case tutorial by Jill of www.createcraftlove.com. Visit her blog for LOTS of fun ideas. I added a capped metal snap to keep the glasses from "spilling" in a purse or beach bag.
Your specs will stay safe and secure inside this cute little pouch.
I plan to make more of these for my Fall craft fairs. I think they would make great stocking stuffers, or gifts for hard-to-buy-for music teachers, grandparents, uncles, etc.. What do you think?
Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome Summer!
Each week I like to extend a big THANK YOU to the curators of Etsy treasuries who featured items from my Etsy shops, Pasque Flower Creations and Aunt Pheba's Vintage, in treasuries over the past week. So, to all you curators out there -- THANK YOU!
FYI: Next Sunday's post may be a day late, as we will be in South Dakota for a cousins reunion all next weekend. I am the oldest girl cousin, and because all the members of our parents' generation have "passed on," as my Grandma Larson would say, I guess that makes me the matriarch -- a dubious distinction.! I'm afraid I won't embrace that role as convincingly as Dame Maggie Smith, who plays Lady Violet Crawley, the Dowager Countess of Grantham in Downton Abbey.
But I digress - - -
Janell of Dancing Mooney featured my rainbow chevron oven mitt in her treasury, Apartment Therapy - Dorm Décor. Janell makes beautifully-packaged soaps as well as jewelry. Her soaps are all so pretty -- it's hard to pick just one. So here's a solution - a listing for 10 assorted soaps!
Linda B. of lindab142 featured my bright floral oven mitt in her treasury, June Is for Weddings. And what could be prettier for a Jewish wedding than this gorgeous white bridal kippah:
Altina Silverson of BabyandKidsUnlimited featured my green chevron oven mitt in her color-themed treasury, Lime Green and White. Altina has some ADORABLE baby and kids' items in her shop. This bright pink baby tutu is just TOO TOO cute!
And last, but not least, Kat of H20worksDesign featured my poppies on teal oven mitts in her treasury, In a Field of Poppies, This digital red, white, and blue DIY pennant set would be great for a 4th of July barbecue -- or display it early as you cheer on Team USA in the World Cup!
Time for me to exit stage left to the rousing sounds of Stars & Stripes Forever!

Treasury Thanks
Each week I devote a post to thanking the curators of Etsy treasuries who featured items from my shops, Aunt Pheba's Vintage and Pasque Flower Creations, in treasuries over the past week. So, to all those curators -- THANK YOU!!!
This week the treasuries trended toward bright colors and Summer themes. Yes, it's true -- Summer is only one week away (according to the calendar)!! It feels like we fast-forwarded through Spring! After June 21, our daylight hours will slowly begin to shrink. So, as my new boss would say, "Make hay while the sun shines!"
Duni of PeriDotbyDuni featured my retro-inspired yellow linen bow clutch in her sunny treasury, Hello, Sunshine! Although many of the items in Duni's shop are beautiful soft pastels, this pleated clutch in a sketchbook rose print, is bright and sunny.
Hylkje Bies of Studio Nyske featured my poppies on teal oven mitts in her treasury, Poppy Season . . For those of you who crochet (or know someone who does) check out this CUTE, cute, cute pattern from Hylkje's shop!
Miss Cherry of CherryGardenDolls also featured my poppies on teal oven mitts in her treasury, Colors 7. Only one of my grandchildren still has all his baby teeth, but aren't these tooth fairy cottages just adorable!!
Nitzan Linton of bellegemsjewelry featured my baby elephants bib in bright green and blue in her treasury, Mondial 2014 - Brasil. Many eyes are on Brazil these days, thanks to the World Cup. This beautiful gemstones necklace from Nitzan's shop is a festive piece:
Kathy from tapestry316 featured my BBQ oven mitt in her bright treasury, Red Hot for Summer Fun! I'm guessing there will be some serious barbecuing going on today. It's Father's Day in the USA. I'd prefer a day at the beach (even though the nearest one is 1000 miles away)! So for now, I'll just admire Kathy's starfish ACEO.
Janell of DancingMooney featured my Nature pillow cover in her treasury, Wild Summer. Janell's shop includes beautifully-packaged handmade soaps as well as handmade jewelry. I love these pretty handmade soap bridal shower favors with a cute anchor motif. I thought of my blogging friend, Natasha, who will be marrying a sailor very soon.
Miss Cherry of CherryGardenDolls featured my black and white chevron oven mitt in her treasury, Classic. Cherry makes beautifully crafted dolls -- many with a touch of whimsy. I just love this fabric doll in floral complete with chubby thighs! (I can SO relate!)
On a softer note, Lana Moes of LanasArt featured my deer with birch trees baby bib in her treasury, Summer Palette. Lana is an incredibly talented and prolific watercolor artist. This wildflowers in vase watercolor is one of my favorites.
Ahh! Wishing you a relaxing weekend. Take time to smell the flowers -- and remember your Dad.

Affordable Abstract Wall Decor
It's Shameless Commerce Tuesday and today I'm featuring a new listing from my Etsy shop, Pasque Flower Creations.
This DIY wall art would add some ZAP to a boring wall, gloomy office or dingy dorm room. (My boss thought it was a bit TOO bright for the student work area in our office, however.) It was made by stapling high quality cotton decorator weight fabric designed by Stephanie Brandenburg of Frond Design Studios to a sturdy yet lightweight cotton canvas and wood frame.
Thanks for stopping by!

Treasury Thanks
It was a great week for treasuries! Many of the curators are looking ahead to Summer. I want to take this opportunity to extend a huge THANK YOU to the curators who featured items from my Etsy shops, Pasque Flower Creations and Aunt Pheba's Vintage, in treasuries over the past week.
Now, sit back and enjoy some eye candy from those curators' shops.
Sharla of Beaded Tail featured one of my reversible baby bibs in her treasury, Let's Kick Off June with Color, Berries, the Zoo and a Cat or Two! This butterfly and hot pink necklace would be fun to wear as we transition into Summer.
Vicki Hyatt of KuduandRomance featured my brown textured pillow cover in her treasury, June is the month for romance and weddings! Rustic elegance is the trend. Speaking of rustic elegance -- these cabin rules are wonderful daily reminders for the post-wedding "happily ever after" phase.
Marie Hemond of MarieGriGri featured my aqua chevron oven mitt in her treasury, Summer Cooking. Marie is from Montreal, but she creates charms and jewels inspired by Mexico. You can see that Mexican influence in this sea heart key chain.
Lana of LanasArt featured my pink chevron oven mitt in her treasury, Gifts for Him and Her. Lana also featured my crocus oven mitt in her treasury, June Gift Guide. Lana is a talented artist. I love this fashion watercolor from Lana's shop -- a great gift idea for your favorite shutterbug:
A double feature deserves a double thank you, so take a look at this beautiful abstract floral art from Lana's shop:
Ayla of Eyelah featured my green chevron oven mitt in her treasury, My Favorite Color. Ayla has LOTS of new listings in her shop, including some pretty zip pouches in shades of green. I love polka dots, so I couldn't resist sharing this cute little bag.
Gitane Shop of Paris, France featured my child's dinosaur drawstring backpack in a treasury, The Art of Quietness. Every month Gitane Shop creates a new painting for celebrities -- here is one called Bono, My Work and Me (not for sale).
Angela of gardenandsea featured my colorful grunge pillow cover in her treasury, Sunrise. My daughter with the beautiful long light auburn hair would love this wonderful boho crochet wool braid headband:
Marilyn P. Sushi of PulpSushi featured my retro-inspired yellow linen bow clutch in her treasury, Summer Lovin'. I just love this vintage camera charm necklace from Marilyn's shop.
Marcia from ImagineThatBaby featured my patriotic baby bib in her treasury, Red, White and Blue for You, Baby! These crocheted baby booties are just the cutest!
Margaret of Splendid Little Stars featured my aqua chevron oven mitt in her treasury, Leaf Green and Sky Blue. Ahhh --such a refreshingly calm color combo! And Margaret just happens to have a silk velvet scrunchie in her shop in shades of green and blue - so pretty!
Cynthia of Antiquity Travelers featured my bright polka dot child's drawstring backpack in her cheery and colorful treasury, HELLO, Summer! These Gypsy Moon apatite earrings would be a fun accessory for those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer -- and oooh, those summer nights.
Heidi of RowHouse14 featured my poppies on teal oven mitts in her treasury, Blues and Pinks. Heidi makes the cutest cards with the wittiest sayings. This Father's Day card cracked me up -- I HATE auto correct, and my kids have all received some pretty weird texts. This card, however, was inspired by Heidi's college roommate, whose dad sent funny texts.
Alison Jenkins of PPBejewelled featured my tangerine zoo animals baby bib in her bright and colorful treasury, Tangerine - A Tickle of Colour. This lovely little orange and blue bracelet helper is a tickle of color --- and a handy little gadget for closing those pesky bracelet clasps! (Bet you thought it was a pen at first glance!) Pretty and practical!
Eva Miller of KapKa Designs featured my aqua chevron oven mitt in her ode to aqua treasury, Joy.
This onyx statement necklace would be beachy keen this summer!
Heather of Calluna Muse featured my green chevron oven mitt in her treasury, My Love at First Sight Finds! I loved these purple beaded dangle earrings at first sight! One of the many lovely jewelry pieces you will find at Calluna Muse.
Anita Lamb of ChocoLambCreations featured my poppies on teal oven mitts in her treasury, Who Wouldn't Love Poppies? This chocolate truffle bracelet looks good enough to eat! But - surprise! It's polymer clay.
Uff-dah! (as we say in the Midwest). What a lot of treasuries! Thanks, again for all the features. I hope you enjoyed the little peak inside all these wonderful Etsy shops.

June BBA Challenge - At the Hop
Each month, the Blogging Business Artisans Team offers a challenge to its members. This month, the challenge is brought to us by Ayla from Eyelah. Here is her challenge:
"This is my birthday month so write about your favorite birthday celebration of all time or the best birthday party you've ever attended or given or the best party you've eveer attended, given, or received. Pretty much any celebration that comes to mind. You can even write about what would be your ideal themed part."
My favorite party was hosted by my first "real" boss, William J. (Bill) Janklow. He was a legal genius, and a strong-willed and often controversial Attorney General and 4-term Governor of the State of South Dakota, my home state.
The University of South Dakota Library has a brief Janklow biography posted on its website. There is also a brief biography on the South Dakota Hall of Fame website.
But this post is not about Bill's long and storied political career. And it's not about war stories from my days in the South Dakota Attorney General's Office when Bill was my boss. This post is about one AMAZING sock hop!
Bill had an INCREDIBLY LARGE collection of 45 rpm records and 33 rpm albums from the 1950s and 1960s. He raised over $2 million for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, his favorite charity, by playing those records as "BJ the DJ" at fundraising events. He was a walking encyclopedia of oldies music trivia!
Click THIS LINK to watch some rare footage -- a short video clip of one of his "BJ the DJ" dances, produced by KELO-TV long before anyone had a video camera in a cell phone!
My memory is not what it used to be, but I think the most memorable "BJ the DJ" event I attended in Sioux Falls was a celebration of Bill's 50th birthday in 1989. Of course, it was also a fundraiser for Make-A-Wish. Everyone was expected to come in bobby sox and 50s attire. I still have my souvenir saddle shoes!
It was great fun to watch the children of the 50s jitterbugging to the songs of their youth -- and we children of the 60s could twist and shout and do the locomotion. Even my laid back brother danced!
Ahh--those were the good old days!!
