But, I usually get amazing ideas after I work on something so I guess that is worth the time. Good luck with wedding orders! I spent $12 on thread for one custom order, trying to match colors I never use.pasqueflowerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17726376425071322993noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4507985073407113992.post-8203267024070462252014-03-18T21:07:13.462-05:002014-03-18T21:07:13.462-05:00I also hate to turn away business! Finding particular fabrics and thread colors would be annoying, and thankfully I haven't done it so far. A couple special orders actually lead to regular items that have turned out to be good sellers, but many customizations are just annoying. I currently don't have enough business to make me so annoyed I don't want to do them, though! If custom orders were making fulfilling regular orders difficult, I'd definitely consider a custom order surcharge. <br />Natashalhhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08176159532063740139noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4507985073407113992.post-88761533955002426662014-03-18T07:48:11.448-05:002014-03-18T07:48:11.448-05:00My wedding shop was about 50% custom orders, so I&...My wedding shop was about 50% custom orders, so I'm well versed! I found that it helped to limit the number of options. Most of the time I only stocked 6 pearl colors, for example, and that tended to be enough for most people. I would do other colors if people asked, but they had to buy a minimum number of items. Maybe requiring a larger purchase first would make your life easier? If I had to spend the extra time involved with special colors, then at least I'd be making good money off of the order.Paige @ Little Nostalgiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11978050087934003216noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4507985073407113992.post-1966007780609189182014-03-18T07:35:47.306-05:002014-03-18T07:35:47.306-05:00We have 4 weddings to attend this year...yikes!
