Treasury Thanks

In the midst of the hustle and bustle leading up to Christmas, four Etsians featured items from my shop, Pasque Flower Creations.  So I want to take this opportunity to extend a hughe THANK YOU!

GalinaDAL of DGDwithlove featured my green chevron oven mitt in her treasury, Have A Nice Warm Evening.   Galina makes wonderful hand knit items, like this pretty dark turquoise beret.

Kathy of GreenBeltFarm featured my gray and yellow Uptown oven mitt in her treasury, A Little Bit of Gray...A Little Bit of Yellow.  Kathy's shop is full of wonderful paper and felt creations.  This beautiful confetti garland in cream would be a wonderful accent for a New Year's Eve party -- or a bridal shower or wedding reception.

My Baby Boomer teammate, Bonnie Sernesky, featured my retro-inspired red bow clutch (I priorty express mailed one of these to Switzerland for a wedding last week) in her treasury, Here Comes Santa Claus!
This pretty red fabric wallet would be a festive holiday accessory, or a colorful grab and go wallet any time of the year!

And last, but not least, Etty Nacson of EttysJewelryDesign featured my poppies on teal oven mitts in her treasury, Last Minute Gifts.  Etty designs exquisite hand crafted jewelry.  I just love this aquamarine and gold ring.

It's been a crazy month, but in a good way!  I just did a tally, and I was amazed to see that between November 20 and December 22, I sewed 131 oven mitts!!!  (Considering that it takes about 2 hours per mitt, you can do the math!!)  And there were sunbonnets, clutches, bibs and custom walker bags also sewn during that timeframe!  Whew!!

I just got another last minute order a few minutes ago, so I need to sign off and sew!  This one won't make it to Seattle in time for Christmas -- but I like to think there's a 12 Days of Christmas grace period.

Merry Christmas to all!

Treasury Thanks

I'd like to extend a huge THANK YOU to the curators who included items from my shops, Pasque Flower Creations and Aunt Pheba's Vintage, in treasuries over the past week.  Christmas is coming, and this week's treasuries are full of holiday cheer.

Wanda of saffronfields, a Baby Boomer Teammate, featuerd my red and green chevron oven mitt in her treasury, For the Holiday Cook and Table.  Lots of cute finds for the holiday hostess with the mostest.
And you could welcome your holiday guests with this beautiful wreath from Wanda's shop.

Snaige Snaige  (Buyer only) featured my gray and yellow Lotta J baby bib in her treasury, Just Yellow.  This sunny yellow treasury is like a ray of sunshine on a gloomy, gray winter day!  Since Snaige is a buyer only, I don't have a product to feature, so I'll feature another treasury she curated, Modern Finds.  The dramatic nd artfully curated treasury in red, black and white deserves a little Etsy love, too!

Heidi from VintageShoppingSpree curated a truly front page worthy treasury, On Thin Ice,  I was honored to have my aqua chevron oven mitt included in this breathtakingly beautiful treasury.

With 763 items at last count, Heidi's shop is a great place to browse for a vintage treasure!   These vintage tree ornaments in aqua certainly caught my eye!  I wonder if they were hung on a silvery aluminum tree back in the 60s?

But wait, there's more!  Another stunningly beautiful treasury, this one by Cheri of vintagehillbillies. Cheri featured my retro-inspired bow clutch in her treasury, RED.  This vintage angel Christmas bell ornament reminds me of the final scene from It's A Wonderful Life, when with the twinkling of a bell and a wink from Jimmy Stewart, we know that Clarence got his wings!

Florence of FindsOfTheCity featured my snowflake oven mitt in her treasury, More Great Buys for the Season.   I just love these vintage Christmas caroler figurines from Florence's shop!

Erin from Leoben featured my red and white snowflake oven mitt in her treasury, Gifts for the Chef.  I thought of my blogging buddy Edi of memoriesforlifesb and her red and white kitchen when I saw this red and white cooking themed treasury!   Erin's shop features handmade jewelry and accessories, like these beautiful aqua chalcedony gold earrings.  I love the wire curly cue detail!

Abigail Jayne of AbigailJayneArt featured my vintage Anchor Hocking snack plates in her BBA Team Treasury, Clear Transparent Beauty.   This pearls and lace cuff may not be transparent, but it is certainly a beauty!

Hunter Tripp of HuntersAlley featured my holiday oven mitt in a cheery treasury, Christmas Cookie Swap.  Hunter is from Ontario, Canada, and HuntersAlley has some truly unique vintage finds, like this wonderful mini furniture home design kit  (before digital!).

Libi Fadlon of LibisJewelryArt featured my pastel walker bag in her treasury, Lingerie Bag Assortment.  This leather and cotton bracelet would be a perfect stocking stuffer for a teen or young (at heart) woman on your Christmas list.

Cheryl Weaver featured my red linen bow clutch in her holiday treasury, What Do You Love About Christmas?  (That clutch is headed to Switzerland for a wedding, by the way.)   This cute hand painted  snowman candle mat would be a lovely hostess gift.

Kinneret Shattach of KishaDesigns featured my patriotic mini bunting in the treasury, More Finds.  I love this leather clutch by KishaDesigns -- and did I mention there's a 20% off sale?

Thanks, again, to all the curators!  How do you find the time to make such terrific treasuries during the Christmas rush?!

Signing off--
I've got promises to keep and miles to sew before I sleep.

Treasury Thanks

The holiday rush is upon us!  So I am in awe of the Etsians who found time to create some wonderful treasuries during the past week.  I want to take this opportunity to extend a huge THANK YOU to those who featured items from my Etsy shops, Pasque Flower Creations, and Aunt Pheba's Vintage.

Sharla from Beaded Tail featured my retro-inspired holiday hostess oven mitt (now sold) in her cute and colorful holiday treasury, 'Tis the Season for Red, Green, Cookies & Kitties!

As a cat person, I just love Sharla's Eat Play Love cat journal.

It's time to start thinking of holiday baking -- and Natashalh of Stalking the Wild Snark created a wonderful kitchen-themed treasury, Kitchen Confidential.  She included my poppies on teal oven mitts -- they've been a hot item this holiday season.  This beautiful nautical knot rug is a wonderfully unique home accent:

Margaret of Splendid Little Stars featured my red and green chevron oven mitt in her treasury, Red and Green.  This rosy red silk velvet scrunchie is just one of the gorgeous new items in Margaret's shop.

Chelsea Wirtz (buyer only) featured the black horse book ends from my vintage shop, Aunt Pheba's Vintage, in her wish list treasury, Chelsea Covet.   Thank you, Chelsea!

Kiymet of Themagicofcolors featured my black and white chevron oven mitt in her treasury, Christmas Bazaar 47.   Transition from day to an after-work holiday party with this stunning rhinestone Peter Pan collar.  Ready to ship!

Rose of randomcreative curated a colorful treasury full of wonderful gift ideas.  I was honored to have my yellow chevron oven mitt included in that treasury.

This adorable button bracelet with jingle bells would be the perfect accessory to wear to a holiday party --- you can be there with bells on!

Hanna Landis of HannaLandisDesigns, is a talented graphic artist.  She included my aqua chevron oven mitt in her treasury,  Possible Aqua Gallery.

If you're thinking of giving your shop an updated look for 2014, or if you're thinking about opening a second (or third) Etsy shop, consider Hanna's custom logo design package -- a one stop shop for your new brand.

And there you have it!  A busier than expected week on the treasury front.  Please show these shops some love.

The holiday rush is half over -- it's all down hill (like a scary roller coaster) from here.  But busy is GOOD.

Santa Claus Is Coming ... Uptown!

It's Shameless Commerce Tuesday, and today I'm featuring one of my newly-listed oven mitts.  I've been loving the yellow and gray (or grey) color combo lately, so when I saw this wonderful fabric designed by Brejer for Robert Kaufman's Uptown fabric collection, I couldn't resist.

I love the little details -- tiny circle pulls on the window shades, shingles, little potted flowers in one of the windows.  It reminds me of my daughter's old neighborhood in Brooklyn, NY.

I lined the mitts with a bright and cheery yellow solid cotton fabric.

It's been a wild and crazy ride from the week before Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday!  I am SO grateful to be busy!!  I've been sewing in overdrive.  I currently have 3 challenging custom sewing projects pending and 24 oven mitts to sew and ship!!  Not to mention some handmade gifts for family that have not yet been sewn.  I feel like Dory in the movie Finding Nemo -- "Keep swimming, just keep swimming!"  But in my case, it's "Keep sewing, just keep sewing!"

So I'll continue to spend more time sewing and less time on the computer, at least until the holiday rush subsides.

Call me crazy, but I'm also going to try to list at least one new item per day in one of my shops from December 1-20.  Today I listed this vintage art deco sweater clasp in my vintage shop, Aunt Pheba's Vintage, and it sold only minutes after I hit the PUBLISH button!

Treasury Thanks

It's been a BUSY week in my Etsy shops, Pasque Flower Creations and Aunt Pheba's Vintage.  The holiday rush has definitely begun!  Thanksgiving and Black Friday and Small Business Saturday are now history -- and Cyber Monday is just around the corner.  I am very grateful to be busy.

It was also a surprisingly active week for treasuries!!  I was delighted to be featured in a number of treasuries over the past week, and I want to take this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU to the curators who featured items from my shops.  Please click on their treasuries and visit their shops, if you can spare a couple of minutes.

Linda Pruitt of Pruitt Creations featured two of my items in her treasury, Happy Thanksgiving; the brown chevron oven mitt from Pasque Flower Creations and vintage polka dot glasses from Aunt Pheba's Vintage.

Linda also has two Etsy shops -- so she's earned a double feature here!

These crossword coasters from Pruitt Creations would be a great stocking stuffer for a crossword puzzler on your holiday gift list.

And this beautiful black and white eyelet lace wrist cuff from Abigail Jayne would be the perfect accessory to wear with that little black dress to a holiday party.

Margaret of Splendid Little Stars featured my nature-inspired pillow cover in her treasury, Woodland.  This silk velvet rainbow scrunchie would be a perfect stocking stuffer for a special girl on your Christmas list.

Cynthia from Antiquity Travelers featured my winter tree baby bib in her treasury, The Colors of Fall.  These patterned patina copper earrings with jade are SO incredible!  I know this, because I bought a pair for my daughter for Christmas.  They are exquisitely crafted, and Allison will LOVE them, I am sure. (Not to worry--she doesn't read my blog.)

Patricia Leach from LittleFieldBirch (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) featured my holiday oven mitt in her cheery treasury, Peppermint Candy Cane.  This child's linen apron from Patricia's shop would be perfect for baking Christmas cookies with your favorite little person.  Love the bright fabric and button detail--and those perfect stitches!

Sian Whitehall of Jane’s Apple featured my retro-inspired red bow clutch in her beautiful treasury, What is the Colour of Christmas?   This Merry and Bright Christmas card is one of the many handcrafted greeting cards you'll find in Jane's shop.

Rebecca of NotMyBag featured my snowflakes on red oven mitt in her treasury, Gifts Under 25.  This versatile cross-body bag would also be a budget-friendly gift -- under $15.00!  Such a deal!  Love the button detail and the wide shoulder strap.

Athena Larios featured my aqua chevron oven mitt in her stunningly beautiful treasury, Blue and White.  This acrylic snowflake necklace would be a lovely accessory throughout the holiday season and beyond.

Lea Marino of CalicoJunoJewelry featured my man-sized blue oven mitts in her treasury, Chef's Table.  Lea makes handcrafted statement jewelry, like these gorgeous nouveau hammered spiral circle earrings.  And note--they're on sale!!

Laura and Steve Delanty of SweetwaterGems featured my winter trees baby bib in their treasury, Winter Trees.  Laura and Steve are a husband and wife team who create unique art glass and jewelry.  This slumped glass plate would be a wonderful condiment dish, sushi dish – or I’m thinking cool desk accessory for a hard to buy for office worker on your holiday list.

Jana from Luncheonettevintage featured my navy chevron oven mitt in her treasury, Holiday Gifts Under 25. Jana is having a sale in her shop through December 3, 2013 – 25% off all vintage, antiques and collectibles!
I love this vintage plaid wool cap – a perfect casual accessory during the holiday season and beyond.

Midwest Finds also featured my navy chevron oven mitt in the treasury, Gifts for the Foodie.  Mason jars are trending -- and this melted blue mason jar spoon rest would brighten up any kitchen.

That navy chevron oven mitt got a lot of love this week.  Sarah Beth of Magnolia Surprise also featured that mitt in her treasury, A Pop of Red.  This adorable crocheted mushroom potholder would add a pop of red to your kitchen.

Deborah Stone-Richard of RevampReuse featured my green chevron oven mitt in her treasury, Gift Guide Green.  This upscaled recycled boho scarf makes a bold and beautiful fashion statement.

Kris Khan of KrisKhanDesigns makes art quilts - big, small and tiny.  Kris featured my orange and gray Lotta J bib in her treasury, Gifts Under 10.   This graphics contemporary art quilt is out of that price range, but worth every penny for this incredible work of abstract fiber artistry.

Last, but not least, Judy Nolan of MisterPenQuin and JNOriginals featured my tractor baby bib in her treasury, Sliding Down the Rainbow...YOU Tell the Story!    This Sweet Posies II Lined Journal would be a lovely gift for a special tween or teen.

And there you have it  --- a wonderful sampling of the breadth and depth of talent that never ceases to amaze on Etsy.  THANKS again to all you talented curators.  May we all have a happy and prosperous holiday season, and, as Tiny Tim would say, "God bless us, every one!"
