Spit Happens

It's Shameless Commerce Tuesday and today I'm featuring a newly listed baby bib I've dubbed "Spit Happens."

This adorable raindrops print is Dew Drops fabric from the Prince Charming collection by Westminster fibers.  It reminds me of the song composed by Larry Morey from the Walt Disney classic, Bambi, "Drip, drip, drop little April showers..."  That movie was my daughter's favorite.

It also reminds me of that soggy teething and drooling stage when you think, "How can such a little baby produce all that spit?!!"

The reverse side is a nice mellow aqua and green geometric print from Amy Butler's Midwest Modern fabric line.  Something green for baby's first St. Patrick's Day perhaps, sans shamrocks.

To find this and other reversible cotton baby bibs, visit the Baby Bibs section of my Etsy shop, Pasque Flower Creations.   A pretty and practical new baby gift idea for under $10.

All my bibs are made using a ModTods pattern:  http://www.etsy.com/shop/modtods.

And there you have it.  It's still tax season, where every day feels like a Monday, and there are no weekends ever!  But I am grateful to be busy, grateful for the extra paychecks, and glad that the hectic pace will slow a bit after April 15.

The Legend of Two Wolves

6th Grade Art - Culler Middle School

A Cherokee Legend

A grandfather is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy.

“It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”

The grandfather simply replied, “The one you feed.”

O is for Orioles

It's Shameless Commerce Tuesday, and today I'm featuring a recent custom order.

I made this walker bag for a dear lady who is an avid Baltimore Orioles baseball fan.  (Now that the football season is officially over in the USA, we are looking forward to spring training and baseball season.)

The reverse side, with a large divided pocket, is made from a rally towel.

I used Riley Blake large polka dots in orange for the lining of the center pocket:

And I just couldn't resist these baseball buttons:

I received the nicest thank you note from her daughter, Maggie:

That is the cutest thing I've ever seen!
She'll be the envy of all the "girls" at the home and maybe some of the "boys" too!
Thanks so much! Go Ravens and Go Orioles! :)

Most of my walker bags are custom orders, designed as gifts for someone special.

Treasury Thanks

Happy Super Bowl Sunday!  The groundhog did not see his shadow, so I'm looking forward to an early Spring.  The tax office is CRAZY busy this time of year, but I am grateful for the extra paychecks.

And I am also grateful to the talented curators who featured items from my Etsy shop, Pasque Flower Creations, during the past week.

Judy from JNOriginals featured my red chevron oven mitt in her Valentine's Day treasury, V-Day Eye Candy.  Speaking of eye candy, take a look at this cute felted wool iPhone case from Judy's shop:

Judy went to the other end of the color spectrum for her treasury, A Sweep of Blue, where my leaves on periwinkle oven mitts were among the featured items.  These blue fingerless gloves are just the ticket when you need to keep on texting and it is FREEZING COLD outside BTW.  Love her signature flowers.

Elle from Elledielle, an Etsian from Italy, featured my aqua chevron oven mitts in her treasury, Love Geometry.  Elle's shop has the cutest items.  I just love this Gino the Cat Shopping Bag.  Gino the Cat is available as a throw pillow, too.  Too cute!

Samantha from the FlourdeLis shop also featured my aqua chevron oven mitts in her treasury, Hostess with the Mostest.  Samantha bakes incredible cookies for special occasions.  Take a look at these Ooh La La Paris cookies.  Yummo!

Babito of PetalGirly, featured my red chevron baby bib in her cute treasury, All I Need Is Love.  Babito is from Latvia, and she makes such pretty hair ornaments.  I loved this red French barrette.

Athena of LalalitaBodyCo created a colorful Valentine's Day treasury, Heart Me!  Athena makes wonderful body care products.  This pretty fruit punch lip balm caught my eye.  Apply a little before you pucker up to kiss your sweetie on Valentine's Day.

Rita Greenwood of HomeGiftShop featured my prairie sunbonnet in her treasury, Prairie Daydreams.  Rita is from London, England.  I love this designer lavender bag from Rita's shop:

Louise Sanders from SunshineLemons featured my yellow chevron oven mitt in her treasury, Spring is on its way . . ..  I hope she is right.  I am SO ready for Spring!  Louise makes personalized printables.  I love this yellow and blue mix, beach chevy.

Sarah Beth of Magnolia Surprise featured my heart zip pouch in her treasury, Hearts In Conversation.  This heart card holder from Sarah's shop would be a perfect little Valentine's Day gift.

Duni of PeriDotbyDuni featured my purple cloth napkins, made from handwoven Guatemalan fabric, in her pretty purple treasury, Beautiful Amethyst.  (Purple IS my favorite color!)  Duni's shop is full of pretty and feminine shabby chic items, like these cute polka dot and lace shorts:

Antiquity Travelers featured my green chevron oven mitt in her treasury, Waiting for Green.  These green amethyst earrings would be worth waiting for!  How unique and pretty!

Kathy of tapestry316 featured my fabric covered travel journal in her treasury, Write it down, pack it up, and send it off!  Kathy is a talented artist who is able to capture the personality of the horses she paints.  I just love this art piece, Cat and Horse Saying Good Morning:

I'm booked solid at the tax office today (yes -- Sunday), so I need to sign off and start crunching numbers.
