Craft Fair Countdown - 2 More Days!

Only two more days until my first Spring craft fair!  My packing list is ready.  I have small bills for change. I still need to finalize the price list, and I hope to finish a few more items, but I'm ALMOST ready. I think.

One thing I've learned from past craft fairs --- it's not Etsy.  My "ideal customer" on Etsy doesn't come to craft fairs in Lincoln, NE.  SO--I'll only take a few oven mitts--and I need to have some inexpensive impulse buy items.

This year I made a big batch of ribbon and cotton webbing key fobs.  I thought they'd be unique and useful graduation or Mother's Day gifts -- or an extra little birthday gift for a newly-licensed teen driver.

Here are a few of my favorites:

I have a nifty display rack with hooks which I'll photograph at the craft fair and share with you in a post next week.

Do any of you do Spring craft fairs?  If you could give someone one craft fair tip, what would it be?

  1. Inexpensive impulse purchases were my bread and butter at shows. I'd get a few people (usually brides) who would shell out for the usual stuff, but my inexpensive earrings and rings practically flew off the table. And what's funny is those always did horrible online, haha.

    1. Exactly! What sells in my Etsy shop DOESN'T sell at craft fairs, and vice versa.

  2. Those are gorgeous! You made so many!! I LOVE the ribbons...do I spot Anna Maria Horner in there? :)
I firmly believe that small items do well at craft fairs!

    1. Yes - Anna Maria's birds are there, and Jane Sassaman, and Amy Butler and Parson Gray.

  3. I like the key fobs! I'm still working "little things" for my next fair (which is coming up way too soon in just over a week!). Best of luck at your first spring show.

  4. I always prepare extra small items for shows, too. Best of luck with everything! It sounds like you're almost ready. I have one more spring show in a couple weeks.

  5. I'm not doing a spring show this year, as I have been working on my wholesale biz. But I am doing a summer outdoor show in July (July is the only time for an outdoor show in Oregon!) Tip? along with small impulse items, make is simple. Too much variety has not served me well in the past! Wishing you Good Sales!

    1. Thanks for that tip, Linda! I will be offering a narrower range of stuff at this craft fair.

  6. I can't wait to see pictures from your craft fair! I know the display will look great. Love the key fobs. I hope you sell a lot of them. They are so cute and colorful, I know you will. Good luck and I'll be waiting for pictures!
