It Was A Dark And Stormy Night....

Sunday, August 31, 2014 -- It truly was a dark and stormy night.  We'd been under a tornado watch most of the afternoon--and we'll remain under that watch until 9:00 pm.

These photos were taken from our front yard at approximately 6:10 pm CDT.

Storm 1

Is that a funnel?  I hope not!!  No sirens yet...
but I think I'll head to the basement just in case!

Not quite so scary from this viewpoint.

Ummm.  That definitely looks like a wall cloud!
Time to sign off and head to the basement!!!

  1. Those are some wild and mean looking clouds. They make for pretty pictures but have them above you is very scary. I hope everything will be OK.

    1. The storm blew through at 60 mph, but no hail or tornado at our house. Scary time, though.

  4. Looks Scary, indeed. My aunt and uncle lived in Lincoln many, many years. Thank goodness it was not a tornado.

    1. Thank you, Anne! Yes, we were very, very lucky that we only got high winds and heavy rain.

    1. It was almost surreal. We were very, very lucky -- only high winds (60 mph) and heavy rain.
