Saturday Slim Down

It' Day 61 of the 90-day Slim Down Challenge, and I am sad to report that I gained 1.2 pounds over the past week.  My total weight loss to date is now only 23.4 pounds.

I had expected to hit a plateau eventually, but I was really disappointed to see a gain.  This week I did eat real food on more than one day, although definitely in moderation.  No sweets.  One real meal was broiled fish and green beans -- hardly a binge!

I walked farther, but the increased exercise was obviously not enough to offset the gain.

This week, I will continue to walk more and severely restrict my real food intake.  Back to protein shakes and green juice starting tomorrow. Tonight we are going out with friends to celebrate two birthdays.  That will be a challenge. The sight and smell of real food is very difficult to handle.  I'll probably opt for a salad or vegetable soup, if it is available.

Only 29 more days to go, and counting!

Have a great weekend!

  1. How much physical activity have you been doing? Try not to get too down - muscle growth could account for your gained weight. I know lots of people who have gained weight when starting a new exercise program before actually starting to drop agin. Don't get too frustrated and good luck!

    1. Thanks for the encouragement, Natasha! I'll hope it's muscle or water. I've been walking 5+ miles most days.

  2. You are doing great! Do not worry about the gain. You've heard it before I'm sure, but there is a good chance that you've gained muscle mass and that could account for that gain. In the past 61 days you have done so many good things for your body! Keep up the good work!

  3. I know the sinking feeling when you see a gain. You've done so well, so don't beat yourself up. Keep doing what you've been doing and let it motivate you when you're tempted. You're an inspiration! :)
